Usage of Switch box bus-bar insulated products:

1. To avoid short circuit caused by small animals in transformer substation or conduction joint over;
2. Effectively avoid personal harm caused by the electricity of bared bus-bar;
3. To avoid short circuit caused by single phase to the earth;
4. To avoid salt fog or bus-bar erosion caused by harmful chemical gas;
5. To avoid discharge incident caused by icicle or sticky snow;
6. To avoid powder, nastiness, dew and flashover;
7. Provide special protection to the joints of complex electrical implement;
8. Effectively shorten the distance between phases and the distance to the ground, very convenient for miniaturization of the switch box design.

Switch box bus-bar heat-shrinkable materials operating technique:

(i) Straight bus-bar protection

1. The pipe surface should be totally cleaned, and any impurities should remove any;
2. The bus-bar could be coated with some silicon cream for better insulation;
3. According to the request length of the pipe, estimate it, then take insulate sleeve as needed;
4. Put the insulate sleeve on the bus-bar at a proper place;
5. Heat the insulate sleeve and wrap the bus-bar evenly, that's it.

(ii) Protection of curved bus-bar

1. Same as the straight bus-bar when the angle is between 120o and 180o;
2. When the angle is 90o or "Z" shaped, the straight bus-bar should be protected first, then bend it on the bend-trigger, a soft cloth might be needed to protect the insulate layer.

(iii) Protection of joints

1. Clean the pipe, remove any impurities; 2. Put the joints right on the joint part according to the blueprint, fasten the claspers and that's it.

II. Operation of heating the shrinkable materials

1. Big oven could be used to heat large quantities of sleeves, it is of high efficiency and good quality. Heating time is around 20-30 minutes, with temperature at 110 +/- 10 centigrade;
2. Small amount of bus-bar could be heated by using heat-spray gun or any electrical heater/dryer (above 1500 Watts). Pay attention to the gas and the size of flame when using heat-spray gun, keep it yellow, and heat the pipe evenly. Make sure it is heated enough when using electronic heater/dryer, the bus-bar could be preheated first and evenly, then put the sleeve on the pipe;
3. When heating by hand, make sure you know the start point, the sleeves can be heated from one end to the other, or from the middle to each end;
4. A piece of wet cloth is suggested, do some cooling when it is needed,(mostly when heated too much) cut the damaged sleeve off carefully if necessary;
5. The shrunk sleeves should be very smooth, use silicon cream if some small bugs occur.
